- What is the style of wedding that blends into the aesthetic of the venue?
The Merion Tribute House is a unique historic venue that can accommodate any type of function. Because of its many garden areas, we have many romantic weddings full of flowers and twinkle lights. Because of its castle-like exterior, we have seen Medieval, Harry Pottery, princess, and Lord of the Rings themed weddings. Because of its 1920’s era Arts and Crafts style, we had more than a few flapper/big band style weddings. Truly, there is something for everyone in this versatile space! We tend to attract the couple who want to put their own stamps onto their big day and be somewhere out of the ordinary!
- How many guests does the space accommodate?
Our ballroom can hold 175 seated for dinner and dancing. 200 can be accommodated at a cocktail style receptions without full seating.
- Is there a space for the bride and groom to get ready at the venue?
Yes, we have a dressing suite and a separate room for getting ready; we are open 4 hours before the start of each event so couples and their families can get ready and take pictures.
- Does the venue have an exclusive/private coordinator or planner?
- Is there an exclusive venue caterer or is there a list of preferred caterers? Does the venue accommodate tastings prior to the wedding?
We have a list of required caterers to meet every budget and style. Most caterers arrange for their own tastings at their location. We do occasional open houses where all caterers come prepared with tastings.
- Is there a cake designer associated with the venue or is there list of preferred designers/bakers?
No, often cakes are coordinated with the caterer but couples can choose the bakery of their choice.
- What does the venue offer in regards to beverages? Is there a hosted bar, cash bar?
Per PA liquor laws, clients must arrange for their own alcohol to be delivered to the venue and the caterer provides the bartenders and setups. No cash bars are allowed.
- Is there an indoor and an outdoor space for ceremonies/receptions?
We have both outdoor and indoor spaces for ceremonies, depending on the weather and guest count. All receptions must take place inside the ballroom.

Because the venue was created as a community center and was never a private home, its floor plan with ample front cocktail rooms, outdoor flagstone terrace the width of the building, and its large ballroom works very well for parties of all sizes. Guests can easily flow and mingle inside and out during cocktail hour and yet still be all together for the reception. Situated on eight landscaped acres, there are plenty of picturesque spaces for formal and candid photos and lots of conversation nooks throughout the space. There is a wonderful Juliet balcony for the toss of the bouquet and two wood burning fireplaces for winter cocktail hours. It is fully air conditioned for summer months, and fully accessible for the disabled.
